Insurance Selection Inventory (ISI®)

Developed specifically for the insurance industry, the ISI assessment can help identify high-caliber applicants who will project a positive image for the company.  The ISI assessment helps measure skills and attitudes that are generally appropriate for customer-facing and service support positions like insurance claims examiners and adjusters, customer service representatives, or correspondence representatives.

Norms are based upon job applicants in the insurance industry.

ISI assessment results have been shown to correlate with manager ratings of job performance in the target positions.  Validation study reports are available upon request.

ISI reports include individual scale scores and three separate summary Potential Estimates for the insurance industry positions listed above.

Dimensions of Measurement:

  • Applied Arithmetic - Assesses basic math skills, including computation and working with percentages.
  • Arithmetic Computation - Measures ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
  • Cognitive Skills - Measures ability to reason, learn new tasks, understand written materials, solve problems, sort out facts, and make decisions .
  • Error Recognition - Measures ability to quickly recognize which of a pair of answers to arithmetic problems is closer to the correct answer.
  • Number Comparison - Measures ability to detect similarities or differences between pairs of numbers quickly.
  • Verbal Reasoning - Assesses reasoning ability as indicated by solving verbal problems.
  • Writing Skills - Measures ability to write understandably.
  • Drive - Assesses desire for upward movement in the organization.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Assesses ability to listen, stay calm, remain cheerful, and use persuasion and tact.
  • Self-Discipline - Assesses ability to be accurate, follow through, concentrate, and accept change.
  • Work Preference - Assesses preference for dealing with people or for doing work that involves less personal contact.
